Shopify launch status

Shopify app access and setup before and after approval.

The managed Shopify integration is prepared, but ShopLens is not yet searchable or publicly installable in the App Store. Final store testing, listing submission, and Shopify approval are still required.

INTEGRATION PREPARED

The Shopify integration and merchant dashboard.

ShopLens includes an embedded dashboard, Shopify authorization, Web Pixel connection controls, traffic and shopping-activity reports, plan checks, and required data request and deletion handling.

PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SELECTED

The permanent distribution choice is complete.

Shopify records Public distribution for ShopLens. This allows a future App Store submission, but it does not create a listing or let merchants install the app by itself.

STILL REQUIRED FOR PUBLIC INSTALLATION

Final testing, listing submission, and Shopify approval.

The managed flow still needs a complete development-store installation check before the App Store listing is submitted. Public installation opens only after Shopify approves that listing.

How Shopify installation will work

After Shopify approval, merchants will install from Shopify—no theme code to paste.

The public flow will begin on a Shopify-owned surface, require the merchant’s permission, and then keep connection status inside the authenticated app experience.

  1. STEP 01

    Start from Shopify

Once approved, open the ShopLens App Store listing or Shopify Admin install surface, review the requested permissions, and approve the installation for the correct store.

  2. STEP 02

    Open the embedded app

After you approve the requested permissions, ShopLens creates the store workspace during authenticated installation. A separate ShopLens signup or copied theme script is not part of the managed flow.

  3. STEP 03

    Confirm the Web Pixel

ShopLens attempts to create and verify the supported Shopify Customer Events Web Pixel connection. Use the in-app status—and its retry control if needed—before evaluating reports.

  4. STEP 04

    Run a controlled check

Visit the live storefront and perform known page, cart, checkout, and test-order actions where appropriate, then compare the observed activity with those exact checks.

What the app handles

The Shopify path stays separate from ordinary website setup.

Shopify authorization, store creation, supported Customer Events, and Shopify billing belong to the managed installation.

01

Authorize

Shopify authenticates the store and shows the permissions requested by the submitted app version.

02

Connect

The embedded app creates the linked ShopLens workspace and connects supported events through the Shopify Web Pixel path.

03

Manage

The merchant opens reports and manages an eligible paid plan through Shopify rather than a separate Stripe checkout.

The final permissions, event coverage, billing flow, and interface remain subject to the version submitted to—and approved by—Shopify.

Verification checklist

Do not call setup complete until data appears.

The app was installed from the approved Shopify surface for the intended store.

The embedded app identifies the same public storefront domain.

The in-app connection status confirms the Shopify Web Pixel is active.

A controlled storefront page visit appears in the ShopLens activity view.

Cart, checkout, and purchase tests are performed only with known test actions.

The report is interpreted as observed activity, not Shopify’s order or payout record.

Setup FAQ

Common Shopify installation questions.

Why is there no Shopify App Store install button yet?

ShopLens is not yet searchable or publicly installable in the Shopify App Store. The managed integration must complete final store testing, App Store submission, and Shopify review. ShopLens does not present a manual theme edit as a substitute for the approved installation flow.

Will I have to edit theme code?

The managed Shopify installation is designed to connect through Shopify authorization and a Web Pixel, without asking merchants to paste ShopLens code into theme.liquid. The exact approved experience will be the version reviewed by Shopify.

How do I know tracking is working?

After the approved app is installed, open the embedded ShopLens app from Shopify Admin, follow its connection status, then perform controlled storefront visits and actions. Confirm the resulting traffic and independent session-activity counts in the app dashboard.
